Carey Outreach Ministries – June 2006
William Carey School of Theology has its
first GRADUATES!
In October, 2001, four
men travelled to the Philippines to launch a brand-new work for the Lord.
The
William Carey School of Theology was born out of prayer regarding the
God-given vision to train spiritual leaders who would shape churches and
influence the nations.

With a joyful
invitation from Rev. Warlito Monsalud, President of the Conservative Bible
Believer Minister’s Fellowship, Dr. Bob Penhearow and his team of
lecturers began the first few courses in a series that would allow the
students to earn their Diploma in Theology.
The first 12 students
graduated in May, after five years of careful study.
There was a sense of
excitement in the air as the students gave testimonies of the Lord’s
blessing through their study of God’s Word. God has been pleased to open
their eyes to the Doctrines of Grace. He has led many of the students to
become church planters, and they have laboured faithfully in many
different areas of the Philippines,
from Iloilo to the jungle.
Rev. Ray Tibbs teaches Revelation!
“Student numbers were
a little higher – perhaps due to the interest in the subject matter. The
groundwork had been done by Les McDonald who had prepared a series of
written lectures on eschatology which many of the students had received
before my arrival. I made it clear at the outset that my presentation
would be from a biblical and not systematic perspective and therefore I
would not touch on some of the areas of interest to them. Hardly any of
the students had encountered an amillenial position before and that
prompted many questions. They were always respectful and apparently open
minded but some clearly remained unconvinced.
Exam results were as
expected, comparable with other subjects taken. I sensed a greater
maturity in the group as well as a deeper calm. Their zeal and eagerness
to learn remains unabated. Warlito provides outstanding and exemplary
leadership, ably supported by his wife and a board of other pastors. WCST
has clearly reached a milestone in its development with
the graduation of its first batch of students. Once again, I am grateful
for the opportunity to participate in this ministry and continue to pray
for the blessing of God upon every part of it.” ~ Ray Tibbs |
