November 2009 - Far East

Greetings

May the Lord be pleased to bless each one of you as we enter into the Christmas season!   Thank you for your steadfast support of this cutting-edge ministry!

Recently two of our lecturers travelled to the Far East to continue offering theological training to leaders.  In one area there were tears of joy; in another area there were some challenges.

We know that we are to be faithful in carrying out the ministry to which God has called us.  We leave the results of our labours in His hands.

Hungry Hearts Were Filled!

Bob wrote, "The students received both the teaching and the course materials with open hands and open hearts. They are so hungry! They greatly enjoyed and excitedly responded to an interactive/dialogue approach as the Word was expounded systematically.  Many truths were new to the students, and for the first time they received systematic teaching through a variety of key subjects coupled with pastoral insights. Tears of joy and excitement accompanied many of the lessons.  It was a highlight for many. Prior to this course they had only received teaching on an 'ad hoc' basis at a discipleship level."

Many carry heavy ministerial loads and cannot cope with pressures due to lack of training. May it please Almighty God to keep this wide and glorious door open for many years to come!"

Testimonies from Students

"I'm thankful for God's grace that I have the privilege to study this course. I think this course is very good, and the teacher is very good. It's not like the other courses we learned before which had more intellectual knowledge rather than spiritual nourishments. I give thanks to my perfect Lord! Also thanks for the teacher's passion!"

"Through  studying of Systematic Overview, I learned the systematic framework of theology and the development of theology through the history. It helps me to understand how the truth is tested and it's really profitable to me."

"This study gives me a great impact. As a servant of God, it's not enough for me to only have love and passion. Without the true theology, we can't serve this great God... I'm so thankful to the teacher's help and I hope that we might have more such teaching. "

Prayer

2009 Nov Far East 2.jpg

The students met with Bob to share with him some of the challenges they face in ministry.  They prayed that God would continue to be glorified in their lives and in the lives of those who partner with Carey Outreach Ministries.
Won't you join these brothers in praying for this work?

Jonathan taught Hermeneutics and Systematics III in another location. Unfortunately, there was a reduction in student numbers due to reorganization of their own administration. Nevertheless, we thank God for the privilege of shaping their leaders for His glory in this area.

Sincerely,

Janet Billson, Communications

Pray that we will continue to attempt great things for God!
